Ensuring Stabilisation for Children and Young People

When a child’s world begins to feel uncertain, often due to trauma or disrupted relationships, we step in with calm, consistent support to help them feel safe and understood where they are.

Why stabilisation matters

Over 14% of children in care experienced three or more moves last year.

More than half live 20+ miles from home.

Repeated moves can deepen trauma and disrupt relationships.

Creating Space for Children to Heal

Children thrive when they can stay close to the people who matter most. This is why our stabilisation support is built around recovery, supported by practices that help restore safety, trust, and emotional balance in a child’s life.

Early Intervention to support children remain in their family home, foster home or children’s home by reducing escalation and strengthening the support around them.

Working alongside carers and professionals to understand what is driving distress and to respond in calm, consistent and therapeutic ways.

Meeting Children’s Individual Needs

We support children aged 11-17 who may be living with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional and behavioural challenges, or emerging mental health needs. We take time to understand what sits beneath distress, recognising each behaviour as a form of communication.

Everything we do is guided by principles that help children feel safe, understood and valued, including:

Therapeutic Environments

A structured, supportive setting designed to promote emotional well-being and positive development. It includes consistent routines, trusted relationships, and trauma-informed care to help individuals feel safe and valued.

Attachment Theory

Focuses on the importance of secure relationships in early life. It highlights how consistent, nurturing care helps build trust and emotional security, which is essential for healthy development and positive future relationships.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

A psychological model outlining human needs in five levels: physiological (food, water, shelter), safety, love/belonging, esteem, and self-actualisation. In care settings, meeting basic and emotional needs is crucial before individuals can reach their full potential.

Triangle of Care

A framework that emphasises collaboration between service users, professionals, and families/carers. It promotes open communication and partnership working to ensure holistic, person-centred support.

Bespoke Care Planning & Risk Assessment

A personalised approach to care, considering an individual’s unique needs, strengths, and risks. It ensures tailored interventions that promote safety, independence, and overall well-being.

Following the Highest Standards of Care

Behind every safe and stable home are these key areas, guiding how we build trust, support development, and create environments where children can feel safe and thrive.
