Children’s Homes

Feeling safe and cared for is a place you can call home.

Once upon a time, there was a child looking to belong.

Somewhere safe. Somewhere to feel understood and accepted.
Somewhere, they could simply be themselves.

The world had felt big and sometimes overwhelming. There had been moments of confusion. Moments of fear. Moments of feeling like they were “too much” or “not enough.”

They needed someone to notice when they were quiet and someone to celebrate when they smiled.

And then we decided to build Ohana House together.

A Holistic, Children-First Approach

Our homes are built on a holistic, children-centred model of care- one that understands the child’s journey, prioritises emotional well-being, and focuses on preventive support.

At our homes, every decision is made with the child at the heart, ensuring they have the stability and encouragement they need to flourish.

We build the house, but it is the children who turn it into a home, shaping the space with their interests, personalities and everyday lives.

A Place to Grow and Prepare for the Future

Kiwi Children Services provides welcoming homes for up to two young people aged 11 to 17. Every young person who comes here has their own story. Some may have lived in foster care, with adoptive families or in residential schools. For others, this may be their first experience of care. Whatever the reason, the focus is always the same - helping young people feel safe, settled and supported. It is more than simply having somewhere to stay. It is about building confidence, learning everyday independence skills and preparing for what comes next. Whether that means returning home, moving to a foster family, continuing education, or stepping into more independent living, support is steady, thoughtful and centred around each young person’s future.
